Cosmetic Acupuncture and Facial Rejuvenation

Background

Clinical studies have shown that acupuncture stimulates the body’s natural functions to improve your health and well-being.  Cosmetic acupuncture and facial rejuvenation is one of the most recent advances in acupuncture treatment in the United States.  Like other acupuncture treatments, cosmetic acupuncture and facial rejuvenation works with your body, and the result is healthier, more beautiful skin.

How It Works

Some cosmetic treatments work by introducing natural and synthetic substances into your body to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles.  Cosmetic acupuncture and facial rejuvenation is a safe and effective alternative to the more traditional cosmetic treatments.  The treatment works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production without the need for additional substances or invasive procedures.  Collagen is a key component of your skin that adds volume and elasticity.  With age, though, your collagen production slows down, and your skin begins to show signs of aging.

For the cosmetic acupuncture and facial rejuvenation, Dr. Lombardo typically recommends a series of 12 treatments, with two to three treatments each week.  Each cosmetic acupuncture and facial rejuvenation session lasts approximately one hour.  During your treatment, Dr. Lombardo inserts very fine needles into your face and body to improve your blood circulation, collagen production and lymphatic system.

What to Expect

During your consultation appointment, Dr. Lombardo discusses the outcomes of your individual treatment plan.  Typically, patients who receive cosmetic acupuncture and facial rejuvenation see a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, as well as improved skin tone, after six sessions.  After your first acupuncture series, Dr. Tenore recommends that you receive treatments every one to three months to maintain your youthful appearance.
