How It Works
Surgical stainless steel micro-needles pierce the skin to stimulate the dermis and enhance rejuvenation. The injury also causes the body to release growth factors from fibroblasts, keratinocytes and monocytes, all of which contribute to increased collagen and elastin production. There is no inflammation. The process is natural, controlled and routine.

Contraindications for micro-needling include, but are not limited to the following:
• Prednisone, Coumadin, Heparin or any blood thinning drug, prescription or herbal.
• Herpetic outbreaks, undiagnosed lesions, weeping acne, warts, unstable diabetes and autoimmune system disorders such as Lupus.
• Accutane patients should discontinue therapy for a minimum of 12 months prior to micro-needling.
• The following treatments should be performed after exfoliation rather than before: cosmetic injections, waxing, electrolysis and depilatories.

What to Expect
During your Micro-Needle Treatment the provider will cleanse your skin and then apply a topical anesthetic. You will then rest for 30 minutes to allow the medication to work. The Provider will then clean the skin again to remove any residue from the topical anesthetic and finally apply alcohol to the skin to open the pores. A serum will be applied to the skin and the micro-needling pen will be moved over the skin until the serum is absorbed. Post-treatment cream will be applied as well as UV protection, and you will be given post procedure instructions and products.
