Women experience vaginal changes due to a number of factors including childbirth, fluctuations in hormone levels, active/athletic lifestyle, and age. As a result these changes affect the vaginal tissue decreasing sexual function and causing urinary incontinence. The Viveve™ treatment aids in rebuilding the tissue of the vaginal canal.
The treatment stimulates the body’s own renewal response to gradually restore healthy collagen and to give soft tissue a youthful tone and resiliency. Side effects include improved orgasm, increased lubrication, and enhanced arousal. A single 30-45 minute treatment is typical for most candidates.
Are You A Candidate?

- Decreased sensation during intercourse
- Loss of sexual pleasure
Women with pacemakers or defibrillators are not candidates for Viveve™ treatments.

FAQs
What is vaginal laxity?
Vaginal tissue is made up of collagen fibers, just like skin. As we age or with trauma the collagen can lose its strength and shape, creating a feeling of looseness (laxity), especially around the vaginal opening. Common causes of vaginal laxity include childbirth, other physical stress on the tissue, aging, genetic pre-disposition and lifestyle.
If you experience vaginal laxity, you may also notice a decreased feeling of sensation and satisfaction during intercourse.
What is the Viveve™ Treatment?
Viveve is a nonsurgical radiofrequency treatment that rebuilds vaginal tissue. The treatment improves orgasm, lubrication and arousal and provides support to the urethra (bladder opening). The Viveve System is indicated for the treatment of vaginal laxity, sexual function or urinary incontinence in more than 50 countries.
How long is a treatment, and how many sessions are required?
A treatment lasts 30-45 minutes. In most cases one session provides symptom relief.
What will I experience during treatment?
Patients experience a warm sensation, and find the session very comfortable. A small treatment tip is inserted just inside the vaginal opening and is gently rotated while it alternately cools the surface and heats the soft tissue beneath. This generates new collagen, providing structure and strength to decrease laxity and restore sensation.
When will I feel results?
Most women notice results within a few weeks after treatment. Even though collagen production is stimulated during the session, continual collagen production will occur over time. Treatment with Viveve™ has shown increased sensation, tightness, lubrication, and improved urinary control within 6-9 weeks. The benefits of this procedure will be experienced in your everyday life and in the bedroom.
What do I do if I have vaginal laxity?
There are multiple ways to address vaginal laxity:
- Kegel exercises are a commonly prescribed treatment because they can strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. While Kegels may improve muscle tone, they do not address the loss of elasticity in the soft tissue that rests on the muscle which contribute to vaginal laxity.
- Surgical procedures are effective, but can be costly and require post-procedure recovery, along with general risks of surgery including pain and discomfort.
- Viveve works at the cellular level to rebuild and restore collagen, without harming the vaginal opening, and is specifically designed for vaginal laxity and sexual function.
